Google doodle celebrated Wassily Kandinsky’s 148th birthday



Google is celebrating with is doodle the 148th birthday of Russian artist Wassily Kandinsky who was started painting when he was 30. Kandinsky was one of the most influential painters and art theorists of the previous century. 

Wassily Kandinsky was born in Russia and studied Law and Economics, after that he got a job as a professorship at the University of Dorpat, Estonia. After sometime he left the job in 1896 because he wanted to admit into the city’s Academy of Fine Arts. A few years later he flourished as a painter and an art theorist. 

Kandinsky published his own book in 1912 which called Concerning the Spiritual in Art in which he told how the colors told the soul of the viewers. He added “Color is the keyboard, the eyes are the hammers, and the soul is the piano with many strings. The artist is the hand which plays, touching one key or another, to cause vibrations in the soul.”      

He immigrated to France in 1933 and became a French citizen in 1939. He died in France on December 13, 1944.
