The schools will closed on
Wednesday at East Central Indiana because of heavy snow overnight and chills
wind that threatened the citizens.
More than 125 schools in the
districts delay on Tuesday by the overnight snow. Some districts recorded chills
wind at -20 F and some are -25.
"The safety and well-being
of our students comes first," CPS CEO Barbara Byrd-Bennett said in a
statement. "The frigid temperatures and winds make a dangerous
combination, and it is in the best interest of our students to cancel
classes."
The list of schools that are
closed: Blackford County Schools, Blue River Valley School Corp, Burris
Laboratory School, Charles A. Beard Memorial School Corp, Cowan Community Schools,
Daleville Community Schools, St. Lawrence School, Union School Corp, Wes-Del
Community Schools and Yorktown Community Schools.
According to weather report it
will break the records of 1942 when the temperature recorded below 13. Now the
weather service warned for chill wind from midnight Tuesday until noon
Thursday.
