Miss Nevada Nia Sanchez has
been crowned Miss USA 2014 in Baton
Rouge Louisiana. She is a fourth-degree black belt in the Korean martial art of
taekwondo, who won title of Miss USA on Sunday night.
The pageant
saw 51 of the most beautiful young women, Nia Sanchez from Las Vegas beat out
50 other contestants which from all the states and the District of Columbia for
the title of 63rd Miss USA. Last year's winner Miss Connecticut
Erin Brady gave her crown to this year’s winner miss Nia Sanchez, after
a three-hour telecast from the Baton Rouge Civic Center in Louisiana.
All competitors competed in three categories, swimming suit,
evening gown, and also in their ability to answer tough interview questions. At
last only one lady remained from all who earned the highest scores.
Other runner-ups, judged in all competitions
were: home state beauty queen, Miss Louisiana Brittany Guidry; Miss Georgia
Tiana Griggs, Miss Florida Brittany Oldehoff and Miss Iowa Carlyn Bradarich.
Sanchez was crowned as Miss Nevada USA 2014 by
Chelsea Caswell on January 2014, after that she will go on to represent the
Miss Universe competition 2014.
Sanchez also said she was "so proud to bring the title of Miss USA
back to Nevada." I am so excited, "It's a dream come true." She
said.
