A great novelist Mr. Terry Pratchett has died at the age
of 66. He was the author and creator of the Discworld series. Terry made
history in writing the books.
Terry had died on Thursday at his
home near Salisbury, England after the eight years diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease.
Mr. Terry’s death was announced
on his twitter account Thursday afternoon by Rhianna saying "Many thanks for all the kind words about my
dad. Those last few tweets were sent with shaking hands and tear-filled
eyes."
Terry had written more than 70
books in his entire career and he finished his final book last summer. He
"enriched the planet like few before him" and through Discworld
satirised the world "with great skill, enormous humour and constant
invention," said Mr Finlay.
"The world has lost one of
its brightest, sharpest minds," said Larry
Finlay of his publishers Transworld.
His friend Neil Gaiman paid tribute to him with writing on his website "There
was nobody like him. I was fortunate to have written a book with him, when we
were younger, which taught me so much."
Terry Pratchett survived his wife
Lyn and daughter Rhianna. Our thoughts and feelings are with his family in this
difficult time.
