The Arizona Cardinals Jonathan Dwyer have arrested in the
charge of aggravated assault on Wednesday. The cardinals have deactivated Dwyer
with allegation of two incidents, one from summer.
According to the Phoenix Police Department, Dwyer
involved in the domestic violence that the incident took over his wife and 18
year old child on July 21-22. Police said the 27 year old his wife left the
state with her child after violence and was first reported on September 11.
The cardinals deactivated Jonathan
Dwyer from all the activities because Dwyer admitted that he involved to the
incident but denied from any physical assault.
The Cardinals released the
following statement after
deactivating Dwyer: "We became aware of these allegations this afternoon
when notified by Phoenix police and are cooperating fully. Given the serious
nature of the allegations we have taken the immediate step to deactivate
Jonathan from all team activities. We will continue to closely monitor this as
it develops and evaluate additional information as it becomes available."
Over the past few weeks Ray Rice of the Baltimore Ravens and Adrian Peterson of the Minnesota
Vikings, as well as Carolina Panthers defensive end Greg Hardy also have
deactivated due to domestic violence.
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has said NFL will be "judged on its actions
going forward" on domestic violence. He will punish for the suspension of
first offense and a lifetime ban for the second and also put new rules.
