Urban outfitters are offering a
sale of "Vintage Kent State Sweatshirt" which is filled with red
blotches that could be interpreted as a blood stains. Urban outfitter made fake
blood on sweatshirt and now it’s listed on website for sold out for $130.
Some critics are saying that
urban outfitter is offering blood stains but urban outfitters says about the
design, it just "vintage."
When National Guard soldiers did
fire on protesters against the Vietnam War on May 4, 1970, four students were
killed and nine other are injured at Kent State University in Ohio. It reminds obviously
the historic moment at Kent State University.
Urban Outfitter sincerely apologizes
for our Vintage about the Kent state University. They said our intention never
to allude to the tragic historic event that happened at Kent in 1970.
Urban outfitters explain the red
blotches are not a blood, its only discoloration from the original color of
sweatshirt and the holes are from natural wear. They said we deeply apologize
for this post that was perceived in a negative way and immediately we removed
from our website.
Now the sweatshirt is selling on
eBay where one seller is asking for $2500, for the "infamous one of a kind
Kent State Sweater."
Urban outfitters have sold out
women t-shirt with printing on it “Eat Less” and “Depression” in 2010. In 2004,
they also sold “Jewish Girls” T-shirt covered in dollar signs and printing
with “Ghettopoly,” t-shirt in 2003.
