“Dukes of Hazzard” star James Best died at 88



The famous television comedy show “The Dukes of Hazzard,” actor James Best has died on Monday morning at his home in hospice in Hickory, North Carolina. He was at the age of 88.

He has been suffering from pneumonia for long time. His close friend Steve Latshaw confirmed his death news.     

James has done acting more than 600 television show episodes and 85 films but his best known role in the hit comedy series “The Dukes of Hazzard.” The show bought smile on millions of American faces almost every Friday night. 

He played powerful role in "The Twilight Zone," "Bonanza," "The Andy Griffith Show" and "Gunsmoke", "Hooper" and "The End." 

Mr. James married to actress Dorothy Collier in 1986 because his first two marriages ended with divorce.  

Several of James’s co-star and well-wishers paid tribute to him on social media. "Every minute of his long life was spent acting, writing, producing, painting, teaching, fishing, or involved in another of his life's many passions."
