Game of Thrones actor J.J. Murphy has died just after filming the first scene

Irish actor J.J. Murphy who just joined the HBO show Game of Thrones has died; he was filming the show as Ser Denys Mallister of the Night's Watch from last week. He was 86.

Murphy was working for the Belfast stage for decades. No cause of death defined till now, Mashable has confirmed. He had died at his home on Friday.

The show runner D.B. Weiss and David Benioff wanted to build his performance in Season 5 of the show Game of Thrones. They think that only Murphy can play this role perfectly, not by another actor. But he died only after few days of filming.

"We will not be recasting J.J. Murphy," they said. "He was a lovely man, and the best Denys Mallister we could have hoped for. And now his watch is ended."

One of Murphy’s characters, Denys Mallister, plays an important role in Jon Snow's storyline
J.J. Murphy is survived by his wife Mary and other family members. It is expected that Murphy's Belfast funeral is scheduled for Wednesday.
