Bastille Day celebration



Bastille Day considered the national holiday in French, which is celebrated on 14 July every year. When we celebrate the band that gave us the single “Pompeii” and whose Web site is the first Google result when you type in “Bastille.”

It is the celebration that commemorates the beginning of the French Revolution. The troops stormed the Bastille on July 14, 1789. Fête de la Fédération was held on July 14, 179. This was great way to celebrate the establishment. All official celebrations were held in Paris on June 30, 1878.

Benjamin Raspail who was politician proposed that July 14 should become a holiday in France in 1880. The law was enacted on the proposal and confirmed that the 14 July was a public holiday and Bastille Day celebrated first time on July 14, 1880

Bastille Day celebrates at large scale. The big part of this is Military and civilian parades. The Military parade begins in morning in Paris finally the parade end with Paris Fire Brigade. Service men and women from various units, the French Navy and the French Foreign Legion take part in this parade. Many musical performances, dances and fireworks displays are also considered a big part of celebration.

On Public holiday post offices, banks, and many businesses are closed and major restaurants as well as railway stations and airport are opened.                

The Eiffel Tower in Paris and the French national flag, or tricolor, are important symbols of Bastille Day. The French national flag equally colored with blue, white and red, many people wears clothes and makes face painting with these colors.
