It discovered that persons bought
fruits such as peaches and nectarines, as well as plums and pluots, which
packed between June 1 and July 12. The fruits immediately discard because they
could be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.
Wawona Packing Company of Cutler,
Calif. is recalling the fruit which packed earlier. The company found the possibility
of Listeria contamination during its own testing. The company shut down the
affected packing but later on it discovered no sign of contamination.
“No illnesses have been linked to
this recall to date,” the company said in a statement.
Listeria monocytogenes can cause
fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people and can infect the
people who have low immune system. May be people suffered from some short illness
like fever, headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea.
The health department warned to
pregnant women because the infection can injure can cause of miscarriages and
stillbirths among suffered women.
