NASCAR: rain continuously become hurdle to complete the Coke Zero 400 at Daytona

It is a wonderful day when NASCAR starts the Coke Zero 400 at Daytona International Speedway. But rain has become a main hurdle to complete the race. The day race ended up in the night due to cause of steady rain at Daytona.

The showers led to stop the race on Saturday night. These showers are varying in intensity and are scattered. The main concern will be rain continue as we go through the afternoon and whole day we handled over the showers and thunderstorms.

The season first race Daytona 500 was also stopped because of rain and ended up in the lights. The situation had occurred in the second race The Coke Zero 400 as like Daytona 500. The Saturday night forced the postponement of the race until Sunday.

The Coke Zero 400 started at 11 a.m. Sunday, completed about 14 hours after official postpone the race. Bristol also was affected by rain, and Texas was delayed a day.

"We seem to have a little bad luck with the weather," said Joie Chitwood III, the track president. "We had it in February and we have it right now."

Chitwood did not want to move race from its traditional Saturday time to another schedule because the race has been running at that spot for 27 years and of course on the national holiday. He said. "I think July Fourth weekend is a great time."
