Miss New York Kira Kazantsev has
chosen as Miss America 2015 on Sunday night 14 august 2014. Kira Kazantsev received crown from the outgoing Miss America
and Miss New York Nina Davuluri at Atlantic City's Boardwalk Hall.
The first runner-up was Miss Virginia
Courtney Paige Garrett. The other top five finalists were Miss Arkansas Ashton
Jo Campbell; Miss Florida Victoria Cowen; and Miss Massachusetts Lauren Kuhn.
"Tonight one young lady's
life is going to change forever," said Miss
America 2014 Nina Avuluri.
Kira Kazantsev gave her talent
performance when she sang Pharrell Williams' "Happy" while sitting
cross-legged on the stage.
Miss North Dakota, Jacky Arness
was chosen by her peers as Miss Congeniality.
Constants came from all 50
states, the District of Columbia, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. On Sunday night

The Miss America pageant started
first time in 1921 and Margaret Gorman was the first who won the Miss America in
1921.
"Atlantic City is facing a
challenging economic climate and our hearts go out to all of those who have
lost their jobs," said Sam Haskell III, CEO of the Miss America organization.
