Rosh Hashanah celebration

Rosh Hashanah is the Jewish New Year.  It is celebrated every year for "a good and sweet new year!” The purpose to celebrate this day is to greeting one another with the words “shana tovah u'metukah”.

This festival celebrates two days from 24th September to 26th September. On Rosh Hashanah day, tables fill with different kinds of foods especially with sweet that reflects an appetite for happy, prosperous days to come.

The celebration begins on the day of Tishrei. The celebration occurred on the day, for the anniversary of the creation of Adam and Eve, the first man and woman, and their first actions toward the realization of humanity's role in God's world.

On this day celebrated customs include sounding the Shofar and eating apples dipped with honey to evoke a "sweet new year". This also symbolized that the sweetness will come in the coming year.

Revel Casino adjourned a bankruptcy auction in advance of Rosh Hashanah, but now the auction will resume next Tuesday.

On the day, the sound of Shofar is use to give alerts and awaken people from their "slumbers".
