Eid celebration

Monday marked the first day of Eid al-Fitr, after the long fast of Ramadan month. Eid is Muslim festival and exactly celebrates on three days.

All people celebrate Eid with more happiness and joyous but in this year the holiday became less joyous because of the Palestinian territories in Gaza. The news channels also bring the news from Gaza and are talking about the most recently news for death of eight children due to bomb activities in Gaza.

In this day people celebrate their holiday with roasted lamb called “maamoul”, a lot of sweets decorate with different kinds of honey and nuts and also a fruit plate with delicious fruits like apple, grapes and mangoes.

People said in Jerusalem “We are not happy. We do not want to celebrate anything. Our people are dying.”

Eid is a time when all people buy clothes, sweets and vegetables etc.for their holidays but in this year they are sending their alms to Gaza and also seeing T.V for in touch with News.

“I gave blood yesterday to go help the people on Gaza,” said Ahmed Imam, a 16 year old resident in Jerusalem.

People are still having a hope for peace and tranquility.
