Emmy nominations 2014



Here are the Emmy Awards nominees in the top drama and comedy series. 2014 Emmy Awards nominations have released on Thursday morning, which will telecast on August 25 on NBC. The 66th Primetime Emmy Awards will host by Seth Meyers.

“What is truly telling from this year’s list of nominees is the rapidly expanding definition of television,” said Bruce Rosenblum, CEO of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.

The strongest nomination is expecting from The HBO series True Detective for best drama series. Another big smash Game of Thrones received 19 nods, which is the highest number while the HBO movie The Normal Heart is up for 16 awards.  

There are also some snubs and surprises:

The big SNUB is Mariska Hargitay star who delivered her best ever work in 15th season premiere. Tatiana Maslany, should have all the Emmys. Chris Messina is a comedy gold which appreciated Work with The Mindy Project.

The Good Wife had arguably its best season yet and stars Julianna Margulies, Josh Charles and Christine Baranski were honored with nominations. Amy Schumer is Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series. Bellamy Young a vulnerable actress who did everything as First Lady Mellie Grant on Scandal which you want from a supporting actress.

The big surprises of the year:

Kate Mara got a nomination for best Guest Actress in a Drama Series. Lizzy Caplan did good work on this one, Academy. Silicon Valley HBO comedy picked up a nomination for Best Comedy. Frances Conroy, who saw this season of Horror Story knows Conroy, played the best.
