Larry
Kramer's Tony Award-winning play “The Normal Heart” received the best TV movie honor at the Emmy
Awards eve 2014. The movie received 16 nominations.
Director Ryan Murphy accepted the
Award for his earlier this year’ release “The Normal Heart” at the 66th
Primetime Emmy Awards who was held at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles. During
the speech he thanked to the HBO and his wonderful cast.
The movie inspired from Larry
Kramer who wrote the autobiographic "Normal Heart". Kramer joined the
stage with Ryan during his acceptance speech. Ryan also encouraged the people
like the AIDS activist, Kramer.
Kramer
speaks out about HIV in the early 1980's and notes "The gay world
did not want to know about this illness — that’s where I got the reputation for
being a screamer. It was the only way you could get anyone to pay any
attention. You know, 'You dumb assholes! It’s a plague!'”
Mark
Ruffalo nominated for the outstanding lead actor and Julia Roberts
was nominated for the outstanding supporting role in the movie, but they had
lost and finally the movie received the most top award of the evening. The show
aired live on NBC.
