Irish actor J.J. Murphy who just joined the HBO show Game
of Thrones has died; he was filming the show as Ser Denys Mallister of the
Night's Watch from last week. He was 86.
Murphy was working for the
Belfast stage for decades. No cause of death defined till now, Mashable
has confirmed. He had died at his home on Friday.
The show runner D.B. Weiss and
David Benioff wanted to build his performance in Season 5 of the show Game
of Thrones. They think that only Murphy can play this role
perfectly, not by another actor. But he died only after few days of filming.
"We will not be recasting
J.J. Murphy," they said. "He was a lovely man, and the best Denys
Mallister we could have hoped for. And now his watch is ended."

J.J. Murphy is survived by his
wife Mary and other family members. It is expected that Murphy's Belfast
funeral is scheduled for Wednesday.
