Cinco de Mayo

Cinco de Mayo is primarily a regional holiday in Mexico. The holiday is because of victory of Mexican forces over French forces in the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862. This date is observed in the United States as a celebration of Mexican heritage and pride.

Many people think that Cinco de Mayo is an American festival. Just like any holiday, food and drink are a massive part of the celebration.
