Brandon De Wilde

Brandon De Wilde died young at the age of 30 in a motorcycle accident in July 1972. In his short life time, however, he had lived a lot of life .Born into a theatrical family, Brandon De Wilde made a Broadway debut when he was just 9 yrs old in "The Member of the Wedding."

portrayed the blonde, blue-eyed Joey who idolizes the strange gunman (Alan Ladd) in Shane (1953)for which he won an Oscar nomination. He starred in his own television series "Jamie" (1953) during 1953-54 and made his mark as a screen adolescent during the 1960s, playing younger brothers in All Fall Down (1962) and Hud (1963) starring Paul Newman.


When Brandon De Wilde died in a motorcycle accident in July 1972 he was only 30 years old but in that short lifetime he had done many classic films, been nominated for an Oscar, won a Golden Globe, won Donaldson Award as a child, had his own television series. He was also married after being divorced twice and was the father of a young son
