Chaiten volcano in Chile


The Chaiten volcano erupted on Thursday putting ashes up in the sky. Chaiten volcan also caused earthquake in the region. The town of Chaiten has been evacuated and several towns on the Argentina border have also been affected by the ash. Authorities evacuated hundreds of people from villages in southern Chile.The ash was seen up to 1,600 feet in the sky.

Chile's government declared a state of emergency, evacuating as many as 1,500 people from nearby villages and the town of Chaiten, just over 6 miles (10 kilometers) from the volcano, the bureau said.
